Meet Danielle Roche, the owner of Elite Waxing, located on the main street of Ballincollig in Cork, Ireland. Elite Waxing specialises in body waxing for all. When starting her business, Danielle's mission was to offer exceptional service and stunning results that would not just meet but exceed clients' expectations.
Danielle approached us as her business was busier than ever, achieving numbers that put her in a position of not knowing how to protect the growth, cash flow, and sustain the business for the long term.
We first worked on the structure, enabling Danielle to step away from the business, and created a strategy focusing on the financials and her vision for the future.
We then implemented a Management To Leadership Programme for her manager and enhanced the retail culture, which allowed us to solidify the team’s growth with a strong staff journey from recruitment to individual development.
When Danielle moved her business premises, a forecast and structured strategy became essential for her to maintain her leadership without having to step back into day-to-day operations, focusing on her time management, marketing strategy, and customer journey.
We followed her plan to remain the leader of the business, where she manages her growth through strong leadership. We are so proud of how much she has achieved and her vision to keep inspiring both clients and teams.

The best piece of business advice you've ever received that you'd share with another salon owner:
"If you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life." Also, delegate where possible, which kind of goes hand in hand with the quote!
If you could go back and change anything or give your younger self some guidance for your business journey, what would it be?
"Everything bad that happens is going to feel rubbish at the time, but it all happens for a reason and builds resilience." If anything goes pear-shaped in the salon now, I look at it and think, "If this was me x amount of years ago, I would not be able to handle it!" I also spent years thinking that to be successful, you needed to be working 24/7, which is not the case.
Your favourite thing about being a business owner?
I suppose now it's the flexibility I have to work and spend time with my family. I'm proud of having a manager and team who are so amazing at what they do.
And what do you find most challenging – and how do you overcome it?
Mostly, it is guilt for working and feeling like I should be at home, and vice versa. It's so hard. I really try to organize myself a month ahead and choose my work/admin days. Sometimes I try cramming too much into one day, but I've learned to prioritize some things that just don't need to be done straight away.
Someone or another brand or business in the industry who inspires you and why?
Lycon, the brand of wax we use in the salon. It really is trusted by people and helped get rid of the stigma that waxing is torturous. The products and aftercare range is fab, and it's how I fell in love with waxing in the first place. I do think in recent years the beauty industry is getting so advanced, and I love seeing more female entrepreneurs and their journeys to the top!
What do you love about being a Delforge Member, and would you recommend us to other salon owners, and why?
100%. I am at a place in my business that I never in my wildest dreams imagined. I contacted the Delforge Group in 2022 when I was stuck in the business. I knew where I needed to go but didn't know how to get there. Valerie and Amy helped so much by putting structures in place in the salon and supported me when I decided to move to a bigger premises. As you could imagine, it was a huge mental and financial undertaking, and I'm so happy they made me see how possible it was.
