12 Years of Coaching, it’s time to reflect…

Back in September, it marked twelve years since I began coaching. I didn’t say much about it at the time; life was busy, as it always is, but lately I’ve found myself reflecting on what those twelve years really mean.
Twelve years of conversations, of listening to stories that often start with exhaustion and end with hope. Twelve years of seeing people rediscover what made them start their business in the first place. Twelve years of watching incredible owners, managers, and leaders grow, sometimes from the very first treatment room or shop floor, other times from the edge of burnout, unsure what comes next.
When I first started coaching, I thought it was all about strategy. And of course, it still is clarity, systems, growth, and leadership. But over the years, I’ve learned that the real magic happens in the human connection. It’s in the listening. The space between what’s said and what’s really going on. The quiet moment when someone realises they don’t have to do it all alone.
I’ve worked with so many business owners across beauty, wellness, and service industries, some just starting out, others already established but searching for direction. What they all have in common is the desire to grow something meaningful, something that reflects who they are, not just what they do.
Through the highs and lows, the busy seasons, the team changes, the financial pressures, one thing has always stayed the same: people just want to feel supported, understood, and capable again. That’s where coaching comes in. It’s not about telling you what to do; it’s about helping you find clarity in the noise, confidence in your decisions, and calm in your leadership.
Over these twelve years, I’ve seen trends rise and fade, economies shift, and business models reinvent themselves. But the truth is, success still starts with the same thing: people. People who care deeply, who give a lot, and who sometimes forget to look after themselves along the way.
That’s why I do what I do. To create a space where business owners can breathe again. Reflect. Rethink. Reset. Because growth doesn’t always mean expansion, sometimes it simply means finding your balance again.
Twelve years in, I still love what I do. Maybe even more now than when I started. Because every conversation, every breakthrough, every quiet “thank you” reminds me that this work matters and that people grow best when they feel heard.
If you’re reading this and it resonates, maybe it’s your time to reflect too. To pause, breathe, and look at where you are and where you want to go next.
And if you ever need someone to walk that journey with you, I’d love to hear your story.
It’s time. Lead Differently.
