For this month’s Members Spotlight join us for a Q&A with delightful Gabriella Chamberlain; beauty & skincare expert and owner of the stunning Essential Beauty Salon & Spa, situated in the Little Chelsea area of Eastbourne.

Gabriella's business journey is truly inspirational and we are so proud to have worked closely with her to achieve all that she has. Gabriella began her journey in 2011, working alone in a single treatment room within a local gym. Now, nearly a decade later, she manages a team of 14 exceptionally talented beauty experts and continues to grow and develop her business alongside them. It doesn't get much closer to a 'start small, dream big, and make your dreams come true' scenario.

Gabriella is one of our long-standing members: from a business audit, coaching, budgeting, and pinpointing areas of focus, we've been helping Gabriella to push her business forward for almost 4 years now.

We're delighted to share her Q&A with you:

The best piece of business advice you've ever received that you'd share with another salon owner Don’t let your success of today become complacency for tomorrow. If you could go back and change anything or give your younger self some guidance for your business journey, what would it be? As someone without any type of experience or qualification in business management, if starting again, I would enlist the help of a business consultant early on. Their expertise, guidance, support and training would ensure that my business have the correct foundations laid from the very beginning. Your favourite thing about being a business owner?

The flexibility. Now that my business is well established, it gives me the means to be able to continually research and launch exciting new treatments and concepts into the business.

What do you find most challenging – and how do you overcome it? Accepting that I cannot do everything on my own, not taking everything personally, and, of course, balancing work and life. Someone or another brand or business in the industry who inspires you and why? There are so many incredible women in our industry doing amazing things. I’m inspired by those who know their USP’s and set themselves apart from others. What do you love about being a Delforge Member, would you recommend us to other salon owners and why? The support from both Valerie and the team and the other members of the Delforge Group is unparalleled. As a business owner, you face many challenges, but with the Delforge Group you are never alone. It’s so helpful to be able to share these challenges, hear from others with experience and make a plan to overcome whatever challenge you might be faced with.
